The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global event in the era of globalization and digital economy. This emergency has hit us indiscriminately both on a geographical and social level but, nevertheless, disparities have grown, harming the lives of the most vulnerable ones and making the economy and the future of companies unpredictable. At a time when we are all more fragile and frightened, facing a common enemy that knows no geographical or social boundaries, we see people suffering, conditioned by fear or affected in their daily lives. We are witnessing a new economic crisis and the principles of an occupational, social and psychological instability.

It is our responsibility, firstly, to fully and deeply understand the others, as well as the unconditional respect in a moment that leaves us no way out. I quote Seneca's words: "We are waves from the same sea, leaves from the same tree, flowers from the same garden." These are the words, that today more than ever we have the moral duty to remember, in which we must recognize ourselves and make them valuable in our actions.

These words must be the inspiration to be able to start again. It would be nice to imagine being able to push a “forward” button and skip the difficult part we have in front of us, but this is not possible. We are called to act in this condition of profound uncertainty where no one is excluded, because none of us have ever had a similar experience. Not even the terrible Spanish flu, that shook the world between 1918 and 1929, displayed the elements of crisis that we are facing today. For all of us this experience is an unhappy one, but we can turn it into an opportunity to bring out the best of us.

Extraordinary measures are needed to ensure the safety of our employees, our customers and our suppliers and our first thought, with no doubt, goes to the people most affected. We, at UNIFILL, have a difficult but fundamental task and we will do our part.

Our priorities are:
- People safeguard, by creating protected environments to keep every UNIFILL employee and collaborator safe;
- Guarantee the production, by ensuring our customers and suppliers business continuity and the supply of orders and after-sales services.

We will keep working to meet our commitments and to honor our priorities, always strictly adhering to government directives. Our daily commitment will be focused on providing safe and available technologies wherever possible. In this atmosphere of responsibility and uncertainty, a particularly heartfelt thanks goes to our employees, our customers and our partners.
